The African American History Project (AAHP) is an archive of over 600+ oral history interviews conducted with African Americans throughout Alachua County, wider Florida, and the American South.

The BAAHP has conducted over 300 full length interviews with African American political leaders, educators, musicians, social workers, business people, clergy. athletes and leaders of community based organizations who have lived and worked in the Bronx since the late 1930s.

Between 1910 and 1930, the African-American population of Philadelphia skyrocketed, from around 85,000 to nearly 220,000 in the early years of the Great Depression. Captured in oral history interviews conducted in the 1980s with aging Philadelphians who participated in and witnessed the Great Migration firsthand, these stories tell of both individual lives and collective experiences adapting to a new home in the "City of Brotherly Love."

The mission of the Museum's Oral History Initiative is to document, preserve, and interpret African American stories through the art and practice of oral history. We collect and preserve oral histories from iconic elders of African Americana and others who have shaped the culture in significant ways.

Black Stories Matter provides Black-led true storytelling workshops where Black folks can write about, share, and reflect upon their experiences without having to justify, explain, or defend the truth of their lived experiences. The culminating content -- written stories, live storytelling performances, videos, and podcasts -- is accessible to an all-inclusive audience.
