Your ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a unique 16-digit number that differentiates you from other scholars with similar names, and travels with you throughout your career, including through different fields and institutions, assuring that your works will always be accurately attributed to you. Some publishers require an ORCID ID when you submit your works for publication, or funders may request it when applying for grants.
