Attributing Sources

When using the words or ideas of others the source must be documented.

The most common style formats are:

  • APA style: often used by Education, Psychology, and Business.
  • MLA style: typically used by the Humanities
  • Chicago/Turabian:  is generally used by History and some of the Fine Arts
  • Other Styles: The Books page of this guide also lists a number of styles used in different disciplines.
