This guide will give you a brief introduction to starting your research assignment at the Sprague Library.

Search

ONE

Pick key words from your topic and create what in Libraryland is called a "keyword search phrase".

Examples:

  • pets and families
  • “animal testing”
  • work and family and balance
  • (family or families) and technology
  • americanization and canada and television
  • “pop culture” and japan
  • children and poverty
  • acculturation and canada​

Begin your search for scholarly articles from the Sprague Library homepage. Click on the Articles tab and type in your search phrase. Select the boxes to limit to full-text and peer-reviewed articles only.

The search results will display and you can use the limits on the left nav to change the date range. Keep an eye on this area to ensure that you are only looking for academic journals.
